COMMUNITY

At PathWay Church, we have a variety of ways for you to find both friendship with others and a better understanding of who God is, as revealed in the Bible and the person of Jesus Christ.

Group Studies

Meeting with small groups for Bible study provides an opportunity for a deeper understanding of God, from His hand in creation as revealed in Genesis, to the glimpse of eternity provided by Revelation.

A men’s and women’s study group meets weekly from September through May. The Men’s Small Group Study meets Mondays from 1-2pm. On Wednesdays, the Women’s Small Group Study meets from 1:00 to -2:00 pm. Additional small groups emerge from time to time as interest arises. Please ask questions and express interest to:

An opportunity for larger group Bible study is available by joining the Community Bible Study (CBS) that meets weekly in our PathWay Church community room on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The mission of this group is to navigate life and learn together. CBS involves believers from several churches in our area. Discipleship – Learning to Follow Jesus

As Christians, our goal is to become more like Jesus in all that we think, say, and do. This is the process of discipleship, which we believe is a lifelong pursuit.

Jesus commanded that we are to “be his witnesses”(Acts 1:8) and to “go and make disciples of all nations”(Matthew 28:19). What better place to start than within our own congregation, with our friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

At PathWay Church, we believe that the process of discipleship takes place in a variety of ways, including our assimilating the teaching from Sunday worship and small group Bible study. But the development of a one-on-one relationship with another person - with both people committed to exploring Biblical truth together on a regular and systematic basis - presents perhaps the most dynamic way to grow in Christ-likeness.

To that end, members of our congregation are committed to implementing “Small Circle” as a tool for deliberate disciple-making. With guided self-study using a smartphone app or hard copy guides, and twice monthly conversations together, two people not only get to know one another personally, but deepen their understanding and living out of their Christian faith. Service Projects

Penfield Community Food Bank

For several years some of our PathWay Church members have devoted their free time to a large garden plot behind our parking lot. Shared responsibility for planting, weeding and watering provides an opportunity for fellowship, and also yields an abundance of vegetables for donation to needy individuals through the Penfield Community Food Bank , and other outreach organizations. Pose questions to: info@PathWayWesleyan.org

Scouts

PathWay Church partners with many local organizations so that we can share in the bounty with which God has blessed us. Our ongoing local outreach includes chartering of a scouting troop. Pastor Anna became a registered scout leader and PathWay became a chartering organization in September 2023, which meets on Mondays at 6:00 pm. There is also a scheduled hosting of additional troops within our space for these important youth-nurturing programs. Blessed with a large lawn, grass field, parking lot with basketball hoops, and an outdoor patio and tent, we make these facilities available for use by neighborhood groups and individuals. Please contact Pastor Anna for more information: PastorAnna@PathWayWesleyan.org

Alcoholics Anonymous

PathWay Church also hosts Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), welcoming adults facing life-challenges to our building for many years. AA groups meet regularly on Friday nights at 6:00 pm in our fellowship hall. Send inquiries to: info@PathWayWesleyan.org

Dress-A-Girl Around the World

Dress-A-Girl Around the World is a global ministry providing beautiful handmade dresses to girls in need around the world. Besides addressing the basic need for clothing, the dresses we make provide a level of protection from sex trafficking in some countries. We want girls to know they are worthy of respect, and that they are loved by God!

PathWay Wesleyan Church has been involved with the Dress-A-Girl ministry since 2013. As of June 2023, we have sent nearly 4,000 dresses and dolls (and some shorts for boys) to children in 18 countries and several locations in the US. Most dresses were hand-carried by mission teams and distributed directly to children in need. Nearly half of the dresses were distributed directly to Wesleyan mission fields.

This ministry is a blessing for the sewers and doll-makers, as much as it is a blessing to the children! All genders and ages, sewers, and new to sewing are welcome. You do not have to make a long-term commitment; we appreciate any amount of service to which you can commit. We encourage you to join us at our Dress-A-Girl sewing events, held approximately every other month. Check our church calendar for the next event. For more information, contact Lauren VanCott; Lcvancott@gmail.com

Additional events are hosted as their unique schedules permit:

Fellowship Luncheons

Every other month; usually the last Sunday of the month, right after our morning service

Mission and Local Outreach Committee

Typically the 3rd Wednesday of the month

Local Board of Administration meeting

2nd Wednesday of every month

We have a commitment to reach not only the here and the near, but also the far and hard places in the world. Through our support of four foreign missionary families, we express the purpose of seeing Acts 1:8 become our reality to reach the lost and develop the church through amplifying our local church mission for global transformation.
